15 People Share What Is Making Them Happy Right Now

Come on, get happy!

That’s the theme of the day (and the theme of the article) and we want everyone to be in a good mood and have a great day. Is that too much to ask for?

Some days it sure can seem like it, don’t you think?

But today we’re all about the good vibes and we hope these people will inspire you.

AskReddit users talk about what makes them happy.

1. Turned it around.

“I went from suicidal drug addict with no hope, to engaged to a wonderful woman, to a soon to be father.

Although having a child during COVID, and given the state of the world, is a daunting task; I’m really looking forward to the rest of my life.

I’ve never looked forward to my life. It’s nice.”

2. Getting in shape!

“I have lost a lot of weight during the lock down.

It has been easier to exercise regularly and avoid unhealthy food.”

3. Moving on.

“I’m moving away from my emotionally abusive neglectful parents tomorrow, and I’ll be living 5 minutes away from my girlfriend.

Things are looking up.”

4. Sounds fun!

“The weather is finally cooling down, which means I can go roller-skating after work without dying of heat stroke!

I’ve put over 250mi on my skates since quarantine started and I’m hoping to hit at least 400mi by Christmas.”

5. Congrats!

“I had a grandson born yesterday, 7lbs 13ozs and 19 inches.

I cant see him in person yet because of the times we’re in, but the pictures are awesome! I just sit back and think of when mine were born.

Complete happiness and joy!”

6. Good luck!

“I just accepted my first full time position in a field I’m excited about!!!!

I graduated college in 2018 and have been doing retail since, trying to land a position just like the one I now have.”

7. Gettin’ hitched!

“After living together with my girlfriend for 2 years I popped the question and got engaged.”

8. All good things.

“I have a good paying job in a pandemic, a girl I love, money in the bank, and I’ve lost three pounds since last week!”

9. The sober life.

“I’m nearly a week sober from Alcohol and feeling great about it.

No plans to start drinking again anytime soon, if ever again.”

10. Bun in the oven.

“I’m 7 weeks pregnant!

Me and my husband have been trying for 4 years, it finally happened!”

11. Lucky.

“Im happy to have a roof over my head, a job with people I respect that does something for my community, a beautiful girlfriend and family.

Sometimes I forget how absolutely lucky I am.”

12. Get down in the dirt!

“Tending to my first garden and harvesting a bunch of spaghetti squash, cucumbers and a really large zucchini !

It is a grounding feeling to be outside and growing something like this.

Saved my mental health these past few months.”

13. Great work!

“I’ve lost 60 pounds since January and have been running at least three times a week.

I feel great about the changes I’ve made.”

14. A big life change.

“I took a gamble, left a comfortable job despite being newly married, moved back into my parents with my wife and got into medical school near their house.

When I was moving, I thought I might be able to squeeze in one day a week working in my previous job (long drive) but actually have managed two days most of the course, which has left me debt free (UK!)

Basically medical school isn’t as intense when it isn’t exam period, you can work, i’m lucky to still have a foot in the door in my previous well paid job.

I genuinely am SO LUCKY and grateful.

I guess the reason i’m sharing this is to say if you’ve got a good job but don’t like it, you can join another career without completely abandoning the old one.”

15. Doing great!

“So many things!

I’ve done 8 months of therapy and stuck with it, I’m on anti-depressents which have significantly changed my motivation levels in a good way, I’ve gotten a personal trainer about two weeks ago and have been working out 6 days a week for at least 2 hours a day.

After 3 years of not being in a serious relationship I asked a girl out whom I have been crushing on for two years to find out the feelings were mutual and lastly I re-applied to community college after dropping out 4 years ago, I start in two weeks! Life is really good right now.

8-10 months ago I was at my lowest point with depression. I felt very alone and could not muster the energy to get out of bed or go to work. I just wanted to sleep forever. I’m so much happier now and hope to keep this trend going.”
