Of course, we know that everything in life can’t be free – but that doesn’t mean there aren’t things in the world that should be free, just because we’re human.
In a world where it seems like corporations are out to squeeze every last time out of every last one of us, here are 15 things people think really shouldn’t cost a single dime.
Health care. All levels and types.
My dad died from one of the most survivable cancers there is because he didn’t have health care. Over 90% of people survive melanoma and I’m convinced the 10% that don’t are impoverished Americans.
14. Kind of a no-brainer.
Luxembourg made public transport free in 2020 – I hope other countries move forward in the same direction.
13. Yes to all of this.
Tampons, toothbrushes, soap and toilet paper.
I mean, maybe not FREE, but I feel like if our taxes pay for electricity for streetlights, emergency services, teachers salary and a military budget, I’d pay a few cents extra every year to make sure that basic hygiene could be available to the public, you know?
12. All countries, really.
Tibet, Hong Kong, and Uyghur Muslims.
11. For every kid.
10. I would sign this petition.
Any and all forms of contraception.
Money toward preventing kids since there are not enough programs to support children living in poverty.
9. A novel idea.
So if I’m paying for these channels why do I have to watch 20 minutes of commercials per hour.
It should be free if I have to watch commercials.
Adverts all together should be banned, they don’t even work well at least for me, they just make me remember that they piss me off so I don’t buy.
8. No one should have to go without.
Some correctional facilities ratio out pads, most have them available for purchase which is near impossible for some. It’s really at the discretion of the facility but some which are supplied are substandard (paper thin), or too few (with varying amounts each month).
Which is why they should be free and a standard be set for all prisons in the US (and shelters but that’s another story all together).
7. It just makes sense!
Glasses, you shouldn’t have to pay to be able to see!
6. And epi-pens.
Im no diabetic. But insilin and water should be free
5. Nominate this man for office!
…. and butter cookies.
4. It’s pretty much a necessity.
Jobs are moving in the direction where internet is no longer optional but mandatory. Even many fast food jobs no longer have applications.
Eventually they might move to apps and preference for app based applications over browser submitted ones especially if the surveys/tests are more optimized for apps.
3. That actually work.
At home Covid tests.
2. Instead it’s extra.
All medical dental (not cosmetic).
Like filings, wisdom tooth removal, cleanings.
Or at least a lesser payment. My dentist said it would cost 500 per wisdom tooth an expected me to pay 2000 dollars to take out all 4 at the same time.
I’m on disability and I’m struggling to find work, even part time, I can’t afford that.
1. This sounds serious.
NFA tax stamps.
It’s stupid that you have to pay a $200 tax to buy or manufacture an NFA item but it’s especially stupid that you have to pay it when buying a suppressor since they’re basically hearing protection.
There you have it – and honestly, I’m inclined to agree for the most part.
What else would you put on this list? Let us know if we’re missing something in the comments!
