There’s not much in life that’s more frustrating than trying to remember something and not being able to force it out of your brain. It’s right on the tip of your tongue, but it just won’t come out of your head.
If you’ve got a mobile phone and a willingness to download the Google app, my friends, those frustrations could now be a thing of the past.
According to Variety, the latest version of the Google app, or the Google Search widget on your mobile device, will help you find that tune before it drives you to the brink of insanity.
You tap the microphone icon, say “What’s this song” – or, if you’re shy, you can click the “Search a song” button instead – then hum, sing, or even whistle the bit of the song that you can recall (you know it’ll barely fill up those 10-15 seconds) and let Google do the rest.
Senior product manager Krishna Kumar in a blog post explained.
“When you hum a melody into Search, our machine learning models transform the audio into a number-based sequence representing the song’s melody.”

Watch the video below for more info, but you know the best way to decide is to check it out for yourself.
I’m going to have to do just that, because between the sleep deprivation that comes with having babies and toddlers and middle age creeping in, my brain is completely fried.
