Warning: This story will give you all the feels. All of them. But here goes. An entire year has gone by since this cat’s owner passed away, but the adorable kitty hasn’t left the grave since.

Keli Keningau Prayitno of Central Java, Indonesia, heard the cries of mourning and tried to bring the cat home and adopt her. However, despite Keli’s best efforts, the cat returned to her owner’s grave the next day. She only leaves to go to her owner’s children’s house to eat. (Strangers also leave food and water). The forlorn kitty only wants to roll in the dirt and sleep at the grave every night.

“She sleeps there and meows, ” Keli told The Mirror. “It’s very sad to see. It shows just how close animals are to their owners.”
According to animal experts, cats experience real grief after an owner’s death. Sometimes kitties appear to be unfeeling, but it’s all a facade. A cat’s love is real. When an owner passes away, cats can lose interest in everything around them, and become anxious and completely unlike themselves. (See? All. The. Feels.).
