Ah, Vermont. The state known for its maple syrup, freezing cold winters, and unique work incentive programs. That’s right, if you work from home and could use a change of scenery, then Vermont wants you to move there. In fact, they’ll even pay you to do so.

Beginning in 2019, Vermont will award up to $10,000 to remote workers who relocate to the state. In order to be eligible for this particular grant, you must be employed full-time by a business that is based outside of Vermont and work from home or a shared workspace. This new incentive is the result of a bill that was signed into law on May 30 by Vermont Governor Phil Scott in an attempt to bring in younger workers and boost the state’s tax base.

Vermont will award this grant to 100 new workers each year from 2019 – 2021. And if you’re in a rush to move, we’ve got great news. These grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so you can show up as early as January 1, 2019.

But, if you think you need a little more time to decide, why not check out one of Vermont’s “Stay to Stay Weekends?” These connect prospective movers with local business owners and realtors so that they can get a feel for the area and decide if it’s the right fit. The next ones are from August 10 – 13 and October 19 – 22.
