They say everyone has a dark side, but is it true? I tend to think that it is, just because no one is all one thing or another.
If you tried, could you identify your dark side? If the answer is no, you can take this 27-question “dark triad” quiz to get more in tune with those frightening parts of yourself.
The Short Dark Triad is meant to measure these “dark triad” personality traits and basically tell you how evil you really are. It was developed by University of Texas and University of British Columbia researchers in 2011 and published in 2013 and rates you on three socially aversive traits – the “dark triad.”

Here they are…
- Machiavellianism is the tendency to be manipulative and deceitful and usually stems from a lack of respect or disillusionment for others.
- Narcissism is an egotistical preoccupation with self. People who are afflicted will often appear charming but struggle to develop close relationships.
- Psychopathy reflects shallow emotional responses, high stress tolerance, low empathy, and little guilt. It leads people to seek extremely stimulating activities and resulting in high interpersonal conflicts.
The Short Dark Triad pulls from three tests that measure each of these three traits – the Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI), the MACH-IV, and the Self-Report Psychopathy Scale (SRP).

Without further ado, here is a link to the quiz, which shouldn’t take you more than 5 minutes to complete. Your results (after you answer some market research questions) will show where you rank against others, but remember, this is all in good fun.
Unless you scored above 90% in psychopathy. Then, idk, maybe get a therapist.
