Building a gingerbread house with your kids at the holidays is part of many a family tradition – and that even considering that gingerbread isn’t that great to start with, and after it sits out for a few weeks (covered in gumdrops, for cripe’s sake), it’s all but inedible.
Now, imagine if you will, a similar – but delicious – counterpart to go with everyone’s true favorite holiday.
I’m obviously talking about Halloween, and honestly, if there’s anything as universally loved as the candy holiday, it’s Oreos.
And y’all, the Halloween Oreos? They are the best of all of the Oreos. True story.
Oreo is releasing a spooky graveyard chocolate cookie kit, an edible activity that can entertain your kids for as long as it takes them to construct (and then eat) it.
It leads you through building a mini haunted graveyard that features a mausoleum and tombstones, and includes pre-cut cookie shapes – all you have to do is stick them together.
The kit includes full-size Oreo cookies, mini Oreos, pre-made icing, and an assortment of orange, purple, and black candies. You can nab it at Michael’s for $15 (and yes, it comes with instructions if you, like me, are not naturally crafty).
If you need to entertain your kids for even longer (and want to end up with more sugar in the house, Oreo also has a monster decorating kit that you can use to add monsters like mummies and skeletons to your graveyard.
That, you’ll have to get from Amazon, and it’ll cost another $31.I don’t know about y’all, but I am all in for haunted cookie graveyards this Halloween.
We probably won’t be able to go trick-or-treating in a traditional way, but this seems like a fun way to add some holiday cheer in spite of it all.
