Rebel Wilson Shares The Simple Exercise That Helped Her Lose Weight

Here’s the thing about losing weight: everyone wants there to be some easy hack, but in the end, there really isn’t. For most people without secondary issues, it’s a simple equation of calories in versus calories out, so if you don’t want to starve, you have to exercise.

If you’re looking for a quick, simple, and effective exercise that has been proven to help at least one person lose a significant amount of weight, though, actress Rebel Wilson is willing to share what worked for her.

Back in 2020 Rebel Wilson committed to a “Year of Health,” in which she planned to lose weight and, more importantly, get healthy. She pushed forward with the commitment even as some of her team wasn’t sure it was the right move for her career – she figured a doctor’s advice that she needed to be healthier was more important.

Two years later and Wilson has proven she can go the distance, and can keep the weight off, too.

Part of her success her been her hitting the gym every day, but she eased into her exercise routine slowly, at home.

What kicked off her weight loss?

Every day, she walked through Griffith park in Los Angeles.

Wilson started the routine after an Australian doctor gave her some advice.

“Rebel, the best way for you to lose unwanted body fat is by just simple walking, it does’t have to be high intensity or uphill…just simply walk an hour a day.”

The advice appealed to the actress, who was daunted at the prospect of how to start the process of getting healthier.

“It just made me think: OK I should take it a bit easier on myself, and just do it gently and do it lightly. So in 2020 I lost weight but very, very gradually. Sometimes I kicked things up a notch with some workouts and went hard. But, the majority of the work for the year was just doing things like walking for an hour.”

So, there you go! Getting outside and taking a walk could be the best way for you to ease into exercise, too.

Maybe get a dog.

Talk about a great idea.
