Starbucks Employee Reveals Program That Punishes Staff Who Don’t “Connect” With Their Customers

I haven’t worked in a customer service job in quite a few years, but I have to say that I never really liked it when it was drilled into the employees’ heads that we need to be best friends with the customers. I totally understand being polite and friendly and respectful but I always thought it was pretty weird when we were supposed to try to “connect” with them.

And I feel that way as a customer, too! Apparently, I’m not alone in feeling that way.

A TikTok user talked about some rules and regulations that workers at a Starbucks store are supposed to follow when it comes to customer service.

@benwithabee I’ve had so much fun talking to all of you &lt3 #antiwork #antiworktiktok #badboss #toxicworkplace #9to5 #thegreatresignation #entrepreneur #hustle ♬ Lo-fi hip hop – NAO-K

And, as you can imagine, other folks had thoughts about it, as well.

This TikTokker made a good point and someone else agreed with him…I guess I didn’t think of it this way…
