The “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” Mansion Was Available to Rent and It Was Cheap AF

If you’re a person of a certain age, chances are you “met” Will Smith back in the 90s. It was before he was cool, before you could really call him handsome, and way before you imagined he could snag any sort of attractive wife and manage to hold onto her for years.

That said, there was something about that fresh, funny, earnest face. We loved to root for the gregarious, mischievous Will as he learns to navigate relationships, high school, and living with the rich kids.

Kids who grew up in the 80s and 90s were hard-pressed not to like this show, and we all remember it fondly, I dare say.

Which is probably why this Brentwood mansion rental booked up fast.

Will Smith himself partnered with Airbnb to rent out his old television home for guests, and in celebration of the show’s 30th anniversary (feel old now?), it only cost people… $30 a night?!?

Whoa.

People who were lucky enough to grab a spot were  installed in Will’s wing of the mansion, which was decked out with “bold graffiti art, posh interiors, and timeless family portraits,” but does not come with Geoffrey to wait on you.

The wing does contain Will’s bedroom, a poolside lounge area, and an elegant dining room – plus, they got to hang with DJ Jazzy Jeff while they scarfed down giant Philly cheesesteaks on silver platters.

Airbnb donated the proceeds raised to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia as part of the deal, aiming to “celebrate the feeling of family and community that was so memorable” for Will Smith when he “lived” in the home.

And, by the way, yes… the mansion was cleaned using protocols put in place during the current pandemic.

In case you hadn’t heard, the series is also getting a reboot on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock, so we’ll all be visiting Bel-Air again soon enough.

Good news in a year that sorely needs it!
