The “Wheel Of Fortune” Puzzle That Was Labeled “Evil” And “Dangerous”

When you think of the long-running game show Wheel of Fortune, controversy is probably not the first thing that comes to mind. After all, it’s the show your parents and grandparents like to watch after they finish their 5pm dinner, right?

Well, it turns out this is not always the case (apparently), because at least one puzzle has been labeled not only dangerous, but actually evil.

Curious? Read on!

We should preface this whole article with the fact that this puzzle appeared the week of Halloween, because the context is important – they didn’t just pull this one out in the middle of Easter week or something like that.

Wheel of Fortune decided to get into the spirit of the spooky fall holiday with a themed puzzle, but the good people of Twitter kicked up a bit of a fuss…and some of the claimed to be downright frightened by the answer.

The puzzle fell under the Movie Quote category and was solved by contestant Jordan Costa. He had most of the letters before his time started, and so said – with confidence – Candyman (but just four times in a row).

Then, of course, host Pat Sajak had to take it one step further and repeat it one more time for viewers, saying “And I said it a fifth time which means he appears. Isn’t that the way it works?”

Costa, in on the joke, replied “Absolutely, we should be terrified. Maybe he’s under the wheel.”

That’s what happens in the films, anyway, and it appears that Millennials everywhere are still scarred and not willing to find out what happens if you decide to f**k around and find out.

Like this guy, who thought the show was playing a “dangerous” game.

Plenty of people did think it was all in good fun, though, and loved the idea.

What about you? Would you have freaked out if you’d had to solve it?

Let us know whether you’re permanently scarred from these films in the comments!
