Trending Now
I know it makes me sound old, or all like, “get off my lawn,” but social media influencers in general are something I struggle to accept are a real part of our lives now.
Put them together with LinkedIn, which is kind of like the redheaded stepchild of social media, and I honestly can’t believe the opportunity hasn’t met comedy until now.
LinkedIn is used mostly for creating resumes to post online, and the majority of the users are people looking for jobs or internships, or the other way around – employers seeking new employees and fresh connections.
There are a few people, though – let’s call them influencers – who spend quite a bit of time on the platform.
That’s who Twitter user Lumo Solwandle was poking fun at with this story, which people ate up online.
The original story, it turns out, was shared by a user called Nikhil Narayanan on LinkedIn, and it’s just a longer, slightly better version than the one we had distilled into 240 characters.
As expected, several of the thousands of people who loved the story had replies, some of which just made me realize I have no idea what’s going on in some corners of the internet.
Everyone says Instagram is the “fake life” social network, they probably haven’t gone into LinkedIn.
The amount of people pretending to be suitable candidates or successful people drives me crazy.
I just have my account to keep update my work experience, I barely interact there

But some people pointed out that, while the post was funny, what’s going on over on LinkedIn isn’t always a reason to laugh.
What?? 🤣🤣 That app is overrated and full of embellished lies. And the sad thing is young people be getting depressed over posts they see there.

And others had no idea LinkedIn is a thing people actually use. So.
People actually use Linkedin? We were told in highschool it would be super important but I only made one out of requirement for a class and abandoned it

This picture pretty much won the replies, though. No others need apply.

Some people had questions about the entire story…
what was the dog doin first day if it was the interviewer? why was it hungry? and how much time can it take to feed the dog (the interviewer) that make him miss the interview?

While others pointed out that the formatting was all wrong.

Whatever your take on all of this, I think we can agree that it’s hilarious – and also that it’s long past time people on LinkedIn started getting dragged.
I can only hope there is more content like this coming in the future. I’m here for it.
