Viral Video Shows How to Easily Pull Out Tendon From Chicken Breasts

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts are fantastic sources of lean protein you can prepare in a million ways. Yet, there is a definite yuck factor around the long, white, hard bits running along the length of them.

That’s the tendon and, technically, you’re supposed to remove it. But most home cooks don’t know how, so we end up with this strange, texture-altering animal tendon lurking somewhere under our perfectly balanced white wine and tarragon sauce.

Well cooks everywhere, TikTok comes to the rescue. Mandy Klentz, the mom behind Raising Krazies, created a video that shows us how to get rid of the damn thing.

In it, Klentz shows us how to hold a fork against the breast so that the tendon pokes through the tines, then hold the end of the tendon with a paper towel. She jerks the whole bit out and is left with a beautiful, glistening, de-tendoned breast ready for the pan or pot.

Totally did not know how to do this, so THANK YOU.

Her video has more than 4 million views, so I’m not the only one who has been eating breast tendons like they were going out of style. The commenters appreciated seeing her hack.

Klentz also has an active Instagram account for her videos too. She told Bored Panda she discovered the hack via a Google search because, she too, was tired of consuming chewy chicken bites. She loves connecting to her social media audiences and said she’s made new friends because of her under-a-minute chicken hack video.

She even has a new name on her Instagram bio: tiktok chicken lady. Klentz has all kinds of cute videos on both accounts, so you’ll want to poke around and check them out. We’re just glad she figured out the one thing that seems to have united us all…how to rip out the nasty tendon from a naked chicken breast.
