What Gets More Grief Than It Deserves? Here’s What People Had to Say.

Maybe people just need to lighten up a little bit, ya know…?

Because it sure seems like a lot of folks out there are WAY too critical of just about everything these days.

What gets more grief than it deserves?

AskReddit users shared their thoughts.

1. The single life.

“Being single.

People legit don’t believe me when I say I’m good being single.

When you really think about it, it’s pretty toxic to tell somebody they have to be in a relationship to be happy.”

2. LOL.

“The word “moist”.

People love to jump on the bandwagon of ha**ng it.

20 years ago nobody h**ed it, but since some people started making a scene over it, it’s become a thing.

It’s dumb.”

3. Good point.

“Kids.

They literally don’t know any better, cut them some slack.”

4. Just so you know.

“Rats.

Rats are the best pets.

The only downside is their lifespan.”

5. Inoffensive.

“Nickelback.

They are like Imagine Dragons for me.

Their music is so inoffensive that I cannot imagine having any strong opinions on it.”

6. Welcome to Flavor Town!

“Guy Fieri.

I was one of these people until I realized what an amazing person he is. He does a lot for local businesses and the food world in general.

I imagine it stems mostly from his “look” which is a combination of a frat guy mixed with a male runway model.”

7. It’s good for you!

“Traveling alone.

Solo-traveling is freakin’ liberating. Sure, I get a little lonely, but there are NO schedules and you can randomly stop if you see something even slightly interesting.”

8. In moderation.

“MSG.

It’s not bad for you.

Eat it in moderation and make your s**tty food taste good.”

9. Cats are great!

“Cats!

I love cats but my God anytime it gets brought up people are so quick to say how they h**e them it always throws me off.

I never hear quick reactions to people liking dogs! “

10. Who cares?

“McDonalds (and chain restaurants in general).

We rarely eat fast food, but while on roadtrips it’s usually our go to pit-stop when there’s little else around.

Having worked in privately owned restaurants, I can safely say that chain establishments are a better choice when it comes to cleanliness, transparency, and consistency. The last thing we want is to get sick while traveling.”

11. Yes.

“In the US, I’d say labor unions.

Non union labor has a very uninformed opinion about it. I’m in the IBEW and the thought of having healthcare that pays for my entire family and a pension and the backing of the union just makes sense.

The idea that unions are lazy and greedy is boot licky. Now there are problems but for the most part being organized and having collective bargaining is a good thing for me. Not everybody knows how to negotiate wages with an employer.”

12. The South is great!

“The American South.

I’m from New England and the amount of vitriol spewed at southern states is disgusting. I think it’s good to have a productive conversation about some things that we do right and they do wrong, but instead a lot of people up here see everyone down there as barbaric.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences when visiting the south. And everywhere has its issues. People from my state love to act like there aren’t any and that it’s the center of the universe.”
