Do you consider yourself a happy person?
And, if so, how did you get there?
Some people never seem to reach the happiness plateau in life and that is a real shame, if you ask me.
But remember that it’s never too late!
What makes you happy?
Let’s see what AskReddit users had to say.
1. Sounds delightful!
“A nice cup of tea in the afternoon.
With nothing else to do for the rest of the day!”
2. Enjoy the moment.
“Fridays from about 6pm-10pm.
It’s about the only time I don’t worry about all the things going on in my life, and my mind let’s me enjoy the current moment even if I am not doing anything productive.”
3. Hang in there!
“Getting praised for doing something right, since I always mess up almost everything and I’ve disappointed many people.”
“My tinnitus went away 5 minutes 24 June this year, it was the happiest moment I have had in many years!”
5. Fall is coming!
“September is here and the heat died down, the days are shorter and I had to get a blanket out last night.
That makes me like…irrational levels of happy. Autumn is my favorite season!”
6. Nice and COLD.
“Sleeping in my Air-conditioned room after being out for several hours in the hot weather.”
7. Pure joy.
“Opening the door and seeing my dog staring at me with a ball in is mouth.”
8. Little things.
“Silence, a great cup of coffee, a cat purring in my lap, and the darkness of night.”
9. Getting better.
“I have been dealing with debilitating sciatica. The pain in my leg during a flare up was so painful it brought me to the floor, unable to get up for 10-15 minutes.
What makes me happy is that I haven’t had a flare up in two weeks and my general pain isn’t as bad anymore.”
10. Solo travel.
“I’ve always loved travelling solo, none of my family and friends understand it, but there’s just something that feels different and invigorating about going to different places and immersing yourself in their culture.
Madrid is my favourite solo travel destination, I could stroll around the parks and the city forever!”
“My beautiful little two year old daughter when she sees me for the first time all day and runs over to me and hugs my leg until I pick her up.”
No matter which town or city I’m in, I’m immediately more at peace if I can go to a library and spend half an hour or so just browsing the shelves.
The fact that there’s a place where you can just be, where you can sit and read and learn things and enjoy entertainment with nothing more than the promise that you’ll bring it back when you’re done with it so someone else can enjoy it… it’s a tremendously peaceful thought.
They give me hope for humanity.”
13. This is good.
“For the longest time I had trouble finding what made me happy.
I didn’t think anything did. And happy moments were fleeting and came rarely. Thats when I started getting out of my comfort zone and and trying new things.
Slowly, I found stuff I was passionate about and things that make me get out of bed everyday with excitement.
I know how it feels to not be happy with anything. Just know, you will eventually find those things that make you happy, might just take some getting out of your comfort zone!
