11 Things No One Warned You Were True About Adulthood

There are too many things to count, really, if we’re talking about things we believed about adulthood that turned out to be wrong – or the crappy parts of being grown up that everyone fails to tell you.

I don’t know what the secrecy is all about, because most people aren’t going to opt out, even if they believe you – and most kids aren’t going to buy it in the first place.

These 11 things are hilariously (and sadly) true, though, and I mean…it might have been nice to know.

11. By the time you can, you don’t want to.

Youth is definitely wasted on the young.

10. Life really does come full circle.

There doesn’t seem to be any good way to avoid it.

9. There’s no such thing as chilling.

Not without guilt and anxiety, your two besties.

8. There’s no one to look after you but you.

Honestly, it gets a bit exhausting.

7. I think we all know the answer to that.

Even if we don’t want to admit it.

6. If you have kids, you have to feed them.

Apparently cereal every night is frowned upon.

5. Come up with an excuse, quick.

If you’re over thirty, you’ve gotta spring for movers. Don’t do your friends like that.

4. It makes you feel like you’re finding a deal.

People love a good deal.

3. The song of my people.

Beers at home taste just as good.

2. You’re hurtling toward the unknown.

No one has been able to find the brakes yet.

1. Nothing can stop it.

It’s a force to be reckoned with.

Maybe someone could have said something, but it’s not like it would have changed anything.
