I’ve loved horror movies and gory stuff since I was pretty young, but there have been a few movies I’ve seen over the past 10 years or so that were so over the top that I don’t think I ever need to see them again.
The big one that comes to mind is a French horror movie called Inside. If you’ve seen it, you know what I’m talking about.
If you haven’t, I definitely would NOT recommend it.
Folks admitted what movies disturbed them so much they regretted watching them.
1. Sorry To Bother You (2018)
“I loved it, but it was so f**ked up.”
2. Awake (2007)
“Imagine having heart surgery, but being fully conscious — feeling all of it and not being able to let anyone know.
I wish I never saw it.”
3. Frozen (2010)
“That movie scarred me for life. The whole story was just too realistic.”
4. The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007)
“It gave me nightmares for years, but I never see it featured on these types of lists!”
5. The Butterfly Effect
“I wish I could unsee this one. I get its intended
message, but it’s just so depressing and touches
on things I didn’t want to see.”
6. Kids (1995)

7. Brimstone (2017)
“It affected me more than any other movie I have ever seen.
It hurt my soul to watch it.
I had to stop halfway through because I felt so awful.”
8. Straw Dogs (1971)
“This one’s forever burned in my memory and wish I could erase it.”
9. Prisoners (2013)
“So many people just got up and left the movie theater halfway through the movie because it was too much.”
10. The Neon Demon (2016)
“I’m not a fan of horror with too much gore, so that may be why it disturbed me so much. I watched it not really expecting it to get as bad at it did.
I expected psychological horror, yes.
But the creepy ca**ibalism? No. That movie has definitely left its mark on my mind.”
11. The Exorcist (1973)
“I still remember being a little kid and finding a VHS copy of this in my brother’s room. I waited until I was home alone to watch it.
I’m still not sure why I didn’t stop it because — to this day — I still remember being more terrified than I ever thought I could be.
Watching no amount of cartoons after could calm me down. I always think about rewatching it now that I’m older to see if it’s still scary, but I never do.”
12. Annihilation (2018)
“I liked the movie, but there are parts in it that I still actively try not to think about.”
